Welcome to Film 150: Multicultural America. As part of our course this semester, we will complete our service learning component at Escuela Vieau, a K-8 school in south Milwaukee. In conjunction with the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Milwaukee, Escuela Vieau offers after-school extracurricular programs and operates a
Community Learning Center. Students take part in a variety of programs including:
- Fine Arts Programs and Activities
- Science, Technology, Engineering and Math tutoring in the "Project Lead the Way" (PLTW) lab
- Athletics
- Drug, Alcohol and Violence Prevention Programs
- Educational Enrichment Opportunities
- The Goethel Library/Media Center
This semester, you will work with the students, faculty and staff at Escuela Vieau, take part in the after-school programs, and learn about the school and community. You will also document and create a media archive of your service learning experience at Escuela Vieau.
